Managing Facebook Token Access

Who can Perform this action?

  • Users with Owner access to the network (can only verify the token)

  • Users with Admin access on Sudo

What is a Token?

A token is a Facebook user connected to a PubPlus network. This user is used to perform all campaign actions on Facebook, like creating or managing campaigns.

  • The token must have access to:

    • All Facebook ad accounts connected to the network

    • All Facebook Pages connected to the network


Networks using their ad accounts:

Sudo:

  1. Go to 'Networks' tab

  2. Click on the desired network to open its pop-up

  3. Scroll to the Business Manager Token section

    1. Ensure the Manual Connection option is selected

PubPlus Settings:

  1. Go to the 'Account' tab

  2. Select the desired network from the dropdown menu

  3. In the 'Facebook Account' section, you'll see the currently connected user

    1. Click Connect Facebook to open a pop-up window and connect a new Facebook user as a token

      1. The user connected must have access to all ad accounts connected and to all the Facebook pages connected to Pub+ for this network

Networks using our ad accounts:

Networks connected to our ad accounts can use the 'system user' as a token. In each Business Manager on Facebook, there is a 'campaign-manager' system user that could be connected to PubPlus.

Sudo:

  1. Go to 'Networks' tab

  2. Click on the desired network to open its pop-up

  3. Scroll to the Business Manager Token section

    1. Ensure the selected Business Manager includes all ad accounts connected to the network


PubPlus Settings:

  1. Go to the 'Account' tab

  2. Select the desired network from the dropdown menu

  3. In the 'Facebook Account' section, you'll see the currently connected 'system user' with the business manager that is connected

    Business Manager Settings:

    1. Go to the desired Business Manager that contains all the ad accounts connected to the network

    2. Go to Settings

    3. In the left navigation bar, under Users, select System Users

      1. Click on the 'campaign-manager' user

      2. Ensure this user has access to all connected ad accounts and Facebook Pages

      3. If not, click on Assigned assets and assign all relevant accounts and pages

Token issues:

  1. Missing Data from Facebook:
    If data is missing in PubPlus from Facebook end, check the connected token. Ensure it is properly connected and does not have any restrictions from Facebook.

  2. Campaign Creation Failure:
    If a user is unable to create campaigns, verify that the connected token has access to all ad accounts and Facebook Pages connected to the network

    1. Also, check if any of the ad accounts or Pages have been restricted by Facebook

  3. Unable to Manage Campaigns (e.g., change bids, budgets, or status):
    Perform the same checks as in item 2 - ensure the token has the necessary access

  4. Token or Ad Account Connection Issues:
    If a user cannot connect a token to PubPlus, or if the token is connected but Facebook ad accounts cannot be linked to the network, refer back to the checks in item 2.
